It is our intention to do our best to keep our clients informed of any changes in the practice.  We want to make you aware of a very important change that will start March 1st, 2020.

We will no longer be approving faxed prescription requests from Internet Pharmacies.

As stated by the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) we are required to prescribe medications in 1 of 3 ways;
    1.  Provide medication from our hospital
    2.  Call in or provide a written prescription to a local pharmacy
    3.  Provide a written prescription so YOU can get the medication online

We have come to this decision because we have you and your pet’s health and best interest in mind.  It is important that you know (adapted from fda.gov website):

    Some Websites that sell medicine:
-aren’t US licensed pharmacies, or pharmacies at all
-may give a diagnosis that is not correct and sell medication that is not right for your pet’s condition
        -won’t protect your personal information

    Some medications sold online:
-are fake (counterfeit or “copycat” medicines)
-are too strong or too weak
-have dangerous ingredients (many cases with flea and tick preventative)
        -have expired
-aren’t FDA approved (haven’t been checked for safety and effectiveness)
        -aren’t made using safety standards
-may not be safe with other medications or products that your pet is taking
-aren’t labeled, stored, or shipped correctly

We understand that ordering through an online pharmacy is convenient, which is why we will refer all online requests to our safe, secure online pharmacy.  Our online pharmacy, Vet’s First Choice, will ensure that your pet gets the correct and safest medications.  Products and medications purchased through our online pharmacy are backed by the manufacturer and go directly into your pets medical notes here in the clinic.  Our online pharmacy is competitively priced and easy to use.  You can find our pharmacy by going to our website agape-vet.com and clicking the link at the top of the page or directly at agapevet.vetsfirstchoice.com
